Into the night…

Spaceship docking at International Space Station. Then whole crew lead by legendary Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway leaving earth to find habitable planet beyond our solar system. Spaceship heading towards warm hole and earth behind.

With Michael Cain saying,

“Do not go gentle into that good night,

Rage, Rage against dying of light.”

And the that background score in all this, with major instrument being church piano.

Though movie was science fiction but that music was Devine. Taking you to the whole other level of peace.

It played with concept of time by transcending beyondq chaos filled life. I was not thinking or reacting to any thought. I was just there, in the moment, changing my rhythm of breathing with notes of piano.

It was my introduction to the this great master. *I touch my ears when I say it. A Indian tradition when you talk about great people* It was Hans Zimmer. Yes he has many movies in his achievements. He has done great job in all of them. But it was my first brush up to the world of background scores and theme music. And I never even noticed so great music before.

I was ignorant before so it was kind of waking moment for me. So chronologically for me first music of Hans is Interstellar. And then the others, Pirates of Caribbean, Inception, Lion king, or Kung fu panda and Rango too.

Since then I have started to be aware of music in the movie or tv shows.

Another great musician is Ramin Djawadi. Though I know his music to just two shows, GoT and Westworld.

Since then music has become big part in my life. I used to listen to music but now that I think of it. It was all crappy and too trash with no meaning to it. Though is it necessary to find meaning in everything?

I don’t know how many times I have spent whole night sitting in window and listening to these pieces and just staring at sky. Best moment was when I was on one of my treks. And winter morning, but foggy on a cliff overlooking backwaters of one of dams. I just sat there from dawn to sunrise listening to Interstellar and Inception scores on repeat. Not a once I thought of changing. To this day it has been my happy place. I imagine I’m in that moment whenever I’m down or off.

The reason to recollect all this is. Today I found Hans Zimmer’s one more master piece, this time it’s for documentary on Earth, Blue Planet 2.

I was dumb and also busy enough to miss it but I haven’t stopped listening it since.

To borrow the words,

“There comes a time when the world gets quiet and only thing left is your own heart. So you’d better learn the sound of it. Otherwise you’ll never understand what it’s saying.”

Well good artist and great Music know that language very well. So sit back and listen.

Doesn’t make you good…

Being against evil doesn’t make you good.

Tonight I was against it and then I was evil myself.

I could feel it coming just like a tide…

I just want to destroy them.

But when you start taking pleasure in it

You are awfully close to the thing you are fighting…

– Ernest Hemingway.

First and last?…

She wasn’t the first one

He ever loved,

Nor will she be the last one.

He wasn’t the first one

She ever loved,

Nor will he be the last one.

He wasn’t the first one

To ever love her,

Nor will he be the last one.

She wasn’t the first one

To ever love him,

Nor will she be the last one.

Is it though? Or is everything lost in meaning?.

Cherish the time…

There are times when end of tunnel seems too far. It gets really tiresome. You are at point of no return. But also unable to continue.

It’s on such trying time that you find your potential. You know who you really are. You grow as person.

People like this feeling of being trapped in a way. Pain, suffering somehow gives meaning to life.

And in these tough days, something unexpected can inspire you and help you to cross the remaining tunnel. Sometimes it’s situation or can also be person.

Unexpected person at an unexpected time is treasure to cherish. Maybe you won’t be together for whole journey. But at least enjoy the whatever small time you have.

Gather the memories and move on to next tunnel to cross, next mountain to climb, next journey to Explore…

Journey is all that matters…

Still Moving…

We must be still and still moving
Into another intensity
For a further union, a deeper communion
Through the dark cold and the empty desolation,
The wave cry, the wind cry, the vast waters
Of the petrel and the porpoise. In my end is my beginning.
-T. S. Eliot (‘East Coker’)
